West Leicestershire CCG
West Leicestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (WL CCG) was established in 2011 in line with the Health and Social Care Bill (now the Health and Social Care Act 2012) when CCGs were established to replace Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) so that healthcare commissioning can be led by GPs and other clinicians.
WL CCG plans and purchases NHS services for a population of 366,000 with a commissioning budget of £362 million. It covers three district council areas, North West Leicestershire, Charnwood, and Hinckley & Bosworth, and 48 GP practices.
